The Nokia C1

Cult of Android has reported that Nokia may be planning Android handsets for the future. The company supposedly will release the Foxconn-manufactured Nokia C1 smartphone, an Android 5.0 Lollipop device with an Intel processor, in early 2015.

Nokia’s mobile division was, of course, sold to Microsoft in late April of 2014. The terms of the deal prevent the remainder of the company from releasing a new smartphone until 2016. However, Cult of Android notes that there is a loophole that allows the company to release products made by other manufacturers with the Nokia brand attached. The Nokia C1 is thought to be such a device.

The leaked specifications sheet reveals it will have a 5-inch 720p display, the aforementioned Intel chipset, 32GB of storage, and an 8-megapixel camera on the back. A 5-megapixel camera is expected on the front of the Nokia C1, as well as Nokia’s Z Launcher UI.
